Athena AI Platform – Academy of Robotics

Designing an adaptive AI interface

A web interface concept designed for Athena, an AI platform developed by Academy of Robotics. The project explored how a functional AI tool could feel more interactive, intuitive, and visually alive through an interface system that changes in colour, graphics, and atmosphere based on the selected user journey.

Brief

A web interface for a more intuitive AI experience.

The project focused on designing the UI for Athena, an AI platform created by Academy of Robotics. The goal was to move beyond a conventional dashboard and create a digital experience that felt intelligent, flexible, and engaging from the first interaction.

The interface needed to support multiple tools and functions while maintaining clarity, ease of use, and a strong sense of visual identity across the platform.

Approach

Building an interface that changes with interaction.

The design system was developed around adaptability. Each section of the platform introduced its own visual mood through shifts in colour, icon emphasis, and central graphic expression, allowing the interface to feel dynamic while still remaining cohesive.

This created a more immersive user experience, where navigation was not only functional but also expressive, giving the platform a distinct personality while helping different tools feel clearly separated within one unified system.

Outcome

A UI concept with both clarity and character.

The final interface presented Athena as more than a toolset; it positioned the platform as an interactive AI environment. Across the screens, the visual system balanced usability with atmosphere, combining modular navigation with a flexible identity that could evolve across features and user needs.

Deliverables included interface design, navigation structure, screen concepts, visual behaviour across menu selections, and a graphic system that allowed the experience to feel responsive, distinctive, and future-facing.

My Role

Shaping the visual direction of the platform.

I led the UI design and overall visual direction for the experience, developing an interface system that could make Athena feel both intuitive and differentiated. My focus was on combining usability with a strong creative layer, ensuring that interaction, mood, and functionality worked together as one experience.

This included defining the look and feel of the screens, designing the adaptive visual behaviour of the interface, and creating a digital language that made the platform feel interactive, modern, and ownable.
